OTHER NONIMMIGRANT CLASSIFICATIONS:

There are individuals in the U.S. under many other nonimmigrant classifications, other than those commonly seen at RBHS. Each classification has its own set of rules and regulations. While federal regulations allow for individuals in most nonimmigrant classifications to engage in incidental study, employment is limited to only certain categories and may require authorization from the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services. Individuals in B-1/B-2, WB, or WT status are prohibited from lawfully enrolling in a course of study.

A:
Foreign Government Officials: May engage in incidental study.
B-1/B-2:
Visitors: Prohibited from enrolling in a course of study. Employment is not permitted.
C:
Aliens in Transit: Prohibited from enrolling in a course of study. Employment is not permitted.
D:
Crewmen: Prohibited from enrollin in a course of study. Employment is not permitted.
E:
Treaty Traders and Treaty Investors: May engage in incidental studies. Employment is limited to sponsoring organization.
F:
Students: Must be enrolled full time.
H:
Specialty Occupation: Employer specific. H-1B employees may engage in incidental studies.
I:
Foreign Media Representatives: may engage in incidental studies. Employment is limited sponsoring organization.
K:
Fiancés and Spouses of U.S. Citizens: May engage in incidental studies. Requires employment authorization from the USCIS.
L:
Intracompany Transferees: May engage in incidental studies. Employment is limited to sponsoring company/agency.
M:
Vocational or other nonacademic students
N:
Certain Parents and Children of section 101(a)(27)(I) Special Immigrants: May engage in incidental studies. Employment requires authorization from the USCIS.
P:
Artists, Athletes, and Entertainers: May engage in incidental studies. Employment is limited to sponsoring organization/company.
Q:
International Cultural Exchange Visitors: May engage in incidental studies.
R:
Religious Workers: May engage in incidental studies. Employment is limited to sponsoring organization.
NATO North Atlantic Treaty Organization
S:
Witnesses and Informants: May engage in incidental studies.
T:
Alien Victims of Human Trafficking: May engage in incidental studies. Employment requires USCIS authorization.
U:
Alien Victims of Certain Crimes: May engage in incidental studies.
V:
Certain Second Preference Beneficiaries: May engage in incidental studies.
