Dear Members of the RBHS Community:
Recent hurricane events, Irma on September 6 and Maria on September 20, have left Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and much of the Caribbean in utter devastation. The residents of Texas and Florida are still on the road to recovery as well. As members of a community of health care professionals, we are concerned for the safety, security, and well-being of our families, friends, and colleagues who are enduring great hardships and suffering at this time.
Currently, we are cooperating with the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) to support students who may need emergency clinical rotations. On Wednesday, October 18, RBHS is hosting a blood drive in collaboration with University Hospital from 9:30 to 3:30 in the NJMS Medical Science Building.
For those who may need support at any time during this humanitarian crisis, counseling is available through University Behavioral Health Care at 800-969-5300.
In the near future, there may be additional ways where we can personally and collectively contribute to the recovery of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Florida, and Texas. We will alert you as those opportunities arise.
