RBHS Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion Search

October 24, 2017

Dear RBHS Colleagues:

Thanks to the efforts of the RBHS Committee on Best Practices for the Recruitment and Retention of Minority Faculty, we are in the process of implementing key recommendations to foster diversity and inclusion throughout RBHS.

One major component of this strategy is to conduct a local and national search for a Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion (VCDI) for RBHS. It is my pleasure to announce the launch of this search and introduce the members of the search committee, listed below. Jorge Reina Schement, PhD, Vice Chancellor of the University Office of Diversity and Inclusion has graciously agreed to chair this committee.

For this new and important position, we are seeking the most highly qualified candidates with exceptional leadership skills, a track record of scholarly achievement, an understanding of healthcare delivery, and a strong commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the health professions and biomedical/health sciences.

Please feel free to forward names of potential candidates to the Chair or members of the search committee. Candidates may apply for the position directly.

Thanks to the members of the search committee for their efforts and support for this important initiative. We are looking forward to a productive and rewarding search process that will assist us in building a welcoming and supportive environment that is truly representative and reflective of our very diverse state.
