Peter Papademetriou is a teacher, a writer and an architect. A native of Newark, New Jersey he completed his undergraduate studies at Princeton University and his professional Master of Architecture at Yale University. He was on the faculty at Rice University before joining the faculty, as a Professor, in the New Jersey School of Architecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has served as Director of the Graduate Program and Coordinator of the Urban Environments track of the Urban Systems Program. Currently he is Core Curriculum Coordinator of the Third Year Bachelor of Architecture. Peter was a correspondent at Progressive Architecture for twenty years, Contributing Editor to Texas Architect and the first Executive Editor of the Journal of Architectural Education, as well as a Member of the JAE Editorial Board. He has written extensively in the international professional press, as well as several books. His professional practice has received AIA component and state design awards, in addition to publication. Peter is a recipient of the Arnold W. Brunner Scholarship of the New York Chapter/AIA, a fellowship from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and a fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
