Student Status

All PhD in Urban Health Systems students will be required to be continually registered for fall and spring semesters or on an approved leave of absence (LOA).  Students who are not registered by the end of the semester's add/drop period will be automatically administratively withdrawn due to inactivity and must reapply for admission to the program. Although summer registration is not required, students may choose to take dissertation research credits or register for an independent study or an approved course upon approval from the program director.

All students must consult with their program director/advisor before they can register for courses.  In some cases, the Urban Health director may register students in conjunction with enrollment services personnel after student-advisor consultations.

Health Requirements

The following requirements are only for cross-registering students from NJIT and Rutgers. Urban Health track majors must comply with full RBHS requirements and submit their documents directly to RBHS Student Health Services.

All students cross registering for RBHS courses must submit the following documents :

Annual 2-step PPD (TB test) results: students may have this test conducted by their primary care providers or at RBHS Student Health Services (for a small fee).
Validation from Student Health Services in your school (Rutgers or NJIT) that all health requirements have been met
